The Scene

Located on a prime South Beach spot on Collins Avenue (right next door to the old Versace mansion), The Dream is only steps from Lummus Park and the beach. A huge variety of restaurants and bars are also available in the area, including on nearby Ocean Drive, Washington Ave and Lincoln Road.

The Concept

Unlike its name suggests, you won't really want to do a lot of dreaming while you're at The Dream. Instead, you're encouraged to dream with your eyes open--a bold, yet fitting proposition for a hotel that takes its party genes pretty seriously. Case in point: the Dream's rooftop pool and lounge. It's a rather intimate space when compared to other rooftops, but one that can deliver that perfect blend of fun with great music (headlined by a DJ a few days a week), the right amount of people (never too packed, never too empty) and a great variety of drinks and food (provided by Naked Taco, the hotel's street-level restaurant). Perhaps what's most notable about its rooftop, however, is the fact that it manages to stay consistently vibrant and hip without resorting to a full-blown party calendar--something few other local hotels manage to successfully accomplish.

The Look

The Dream also stands out for the Art Deco experience it provides: it is housed in the old Palmer and Tudor houses whose original facades date back to 1939. The design is based on a style fusion that can be best described as a marriage of Art Deco lines with chic French-Moroccan decor. The look, which was conceived by celebrity architect-designer Michael Czysz, is consistent throughout the hotel, though the rooms also carry a slight seventies feel with metal-accented furniture, tinted glass doors in closets and bathrooms, crystal chandeliers and cool blue lighting. The hotel also has an on-site holistic luxury spa Shala.

In Short

South Beach is known for the partying, but not all parties are created equal. The Dream rises above the pack by providing a more intimate, yet consistently fun atmosphere from its vibrant rooftop lounge to its sexy interior.
