The polished design capitalizes on warm woods for dramatic features that don’t overwhelm---think accent walls and framing headboards. The largely muted palette is perfect for relaxation, utilizing refreshing white linens and walls while also providing beautiful London vistas. Elemental-inspired accents show up in subtle colors that reflect water, air, fire, earth, and sky (usually in the carpets). Where other hotels express their themes bluntly, the execution at the Halkin is so subtle that you may not realize which element your room belongs to, but that’s OK when you’re ensconced in such tranquil luxury.
