The Scene

Though the West End is popular with tourists, there’s still so much to offer that you can’t help but be drawn to the area. The Concept

The Haymarket Hotel is a place for meeting---meeting in Brumus (ancient name of Bacchus), the downstairs bar and restaurant; meeting in the jungle-themed Shooting Gallery where aristocrats used to practice their marksmanship; meeting in the Conservatory’s woodland with bespoke wooden stools and tangled orbs of wood hanging from the ceiling; meeting around the stunning swimming pool under its starry ceiling and adorned a with long pewter bar. Kit Kemp’s signature décor is on full display, creating a festive mood and atmosphere that suits its West End location perfectly: in a word, theatrical.

The Look

Count on the bright juxtaposition of colors and prints jumbled just so it results in a charisma unique to Firmdale. Enormous windows in every room let natural light stream in to play up the vivid colors in fabrics throughout the room. All that light and high ceilings help the rooms feel large even if they’re not; for a bit extra, you’ll get even more space than the generous (by London standards) sizes. If you’re traveling with family, consider the Haymarket Suites or the Townhouse---they were designed with families in mind. Look out for a lavender-based fragrance throughout the hotel and in the Miller Harris bath products just for the Haymarket Hotel (and not coincidentally named Marche au Foin---Haymarket).
